Celebrity By Travis Ketzak / July 24, 2017 Not only is Ryan Reynolds a devoted family man and talented actor—he’s also a sweet wish-granter. One of his biggest fans from Plympton, UK, received the phone call of a lifetime when Reynolds reached out to say hello. Five-year-old Daniel Downing was recently diagnosed with pontine glioma, an aggressive cancer that resulted in an inoperable brain tumor. Tragically, the boy was given just a few months to live, so his parents are doing everything they can to make his remaining days as special as possible. During such a devastating time, Downing’s spirits were lifted when he heard his hero, Reynolds, was on the other end of the telephone. The Deadpool 2 actor learned of the youngster’s condition and had a call set up so that they could speak. Downing told the movie star that he was feeling “poorly” and asked if they could switch to Facetime so he could show off his favorite Deadpool t-shirt. Reynolds quickly switched to a video chat and proceeded to give the boy a 15-minute guided tour of the Deadpool 2 set. “I’m so happy for Daniel—it’s something he normally wouldn’t have been able to do and he was so excited. He told all his friends and his teachers. It’s nice to see him so excited because he’s been a bit down lately,” Daniel’s mom, Stephanie, told The Sun.
