Tyler Carach, a 9-year-old boy from Florida is on a mission to thank every police officer in the country by giving them a donut, going by the name “Donut Boy.”

He sees police officers as his best friends, and he told his mom one day that he wanted to thank each and every one of them.

“He looked right at me and said, ‘Ok, I am going to thank every cop in America and buy them all a doughnut.’ I was like, ‘You’re going to do what?’” Tyler’s mom, Sheena, told WNEP.

Tyler started his mission locally, but his destiny was calling. He is now on a six-week trip, traveling up the East Coast and stopping to give donuts to as many police officers as possible. He is expecting to hand out over 10,000 donuts on this trip alone, which will contribute to an estimated yearly total of around 22,000 donuts so far.

That’s a lot of dough!

The officers he’s visited have all been very touched. “It really opens us up when we see a 9-year-old that sees the importance of letting us know that we are appreciated,” Pennsylvania State Trooper Marc Allen said.

Donut Boy to the rescue!
